Instructions for Registering
To register online, you MUST first register with USA Hockey at
www.usahockeyregistration.com . The cost to register is $35. As a member of USA Hockey and the Mid-Am Hockey District, this cost provides a subscription to USA Hockey Magazine, supplemental medical insurance, as well as provides support for several USA Hockey programs like the American Development Model (ADM), Coaching Education Programs, and provides resources to local hockey associations.
After registering with USA Hockey, please go to the NKYHA webpage at
www.nkyha.com and select ‘On-line Registration’ in the top menu bar. If you have registered online in prior years, you can use the same email/password. If you have forgotten your password, you can have a reminder emailed to you. If you have not registered online, or cannot recover your id/password, you will need to create a new one.
NKYHA House Hockey is for players of all abilities and skill levels. Every player will be placed on a team. Feel free to forward this email to anyone you know who may be considering playing hockey. We would love to introduce more youth to the game of hockey.
Below are answers to the Frequently Asked Questions about NKYHA House Hockey....
(1) Why do the fees seem high compared to last year?
Actually, instead of two sessions (Fall and Winter), there is only one registration and cost which covers both the Fall and Winter seasons. Full season costs are identical to 2010-2011.
In past years, very few house players actually register for one session or the other. House players typically play both the fall
AND winter seasons. In past years, registration in the Fall session AND registration during the Winter session was in effect, a payment plan. New for 2011-12 is a payment plan option for the house programs. This option was only available for travel teams in prior years.
(2) Why is the difference in the cost between the Instructional Program and House hockey so much?
In short...more ice time. NKYHA house hockey players have more practices and play more games. With the increased ice time, players skills and abilities begin to increase at a faster pace.
(3) Will my child make the team?
House hockey is for players of any skill levels and experience. ALL players who have registered and paid will be assigned to a team. As the NKYHA hockey program has grown, we are now fielding multiple teams at most age levels. The evaluations are used to group players by skill level and create balanced teams.
(4) Will there be an opportunity for Instructional Program players to join house hockey for the Winter session?
Yes. Players who have completed the Instructional Program can register for the Winter season cross-ice house program. They will practice with Mite/U8 house group on Wednesday nights and participate in a schedule of games with other similarly skilled teams. Registration information will be available in November 2011.
